The South Face of the Aiguille du Moine, above the spot where I was bivouacing for the night. The cave where I found the crystals is high on the upper part of the South Face. The next morning I climbed up the mountain from the top of the snowfield, trending leftwards along ledges to reach a gully, which eventually led to the arete on the left. Then the climbing got even harder..
